ZAP Tooling
Zap tooling is an excellent choice for production runs of hundreds or more
plastic injection parts shot in ABS, nylon, polycarbonate, acrylic and a
variety of other polymers. The Zap process simultaneously delivers a zinc
cast core and cavity mold that's designed for plastic injection and can
tolerate thousands of shots before any noticeable deterioration occurs.
The Zap tool part envelope is 12'' x 12'' though larger parts can be
produced with success dependent on the geometric specifics of the part.
Tolerances on critical dimensions could be kept to within +/- .001" if
requested. General part tolerances are +/- .005" for most features.
A typical Zap tool will cost 20-25% less than a machined aluminum tool and
can be produced in less than ten days. Plastic injection-molded parts can be
delivered within 2 to 3 days following approval of the first article.
this is text meant just to take up lots of space at the bottom of the page, so that if
there is only a table or something in the content part of this page, the content still
takes up the majority of the screen. if there is not any text here, then sometimes there
will be just a table here, and the left navigation bar to the left will be kinda wide...
